Dead-Sea and Masada

The Judean Desert hills and steep cliffs will be the view from the window for most of the drive to Masada, alongside the Dead Sea shores – 400 m. (1300 ft.) below sea level!

We will ascend Masada by cable car (or by foot…) and explore this spectacular ancient archaeological site on foot as we envision the dramatic story of the Jewish rebels hiding from the Roman Legion 1,900 years ago. We will also walk through the ruins of Herod's Castle, past the walls and huge underground water cisterns.

After we descend from the mountain, we will have our lunch at the lowest elevation food court in the world.

Continuing on, you will have the pleasure of taking a dip in the Dead Sea and experiencing the unique sensation of floating effortlessly on the buoyant waters of the lake.

"Sitting" in the water holding a newspaper in your hands is an unforgettable, once-in-a-lifetime experience!
